Rachel and Versha: A Journey Towards a Brighter Future
By Natash Aston Cutinha
Rachel and Versha, two young sisters from Bengaluru Rural, are on a path toward a promising future thanks to the support of their dedicated parents and the assistance from CORD NGO. Their mother works as an attender in a school, while their father earns a living as a daily laborer. Both parents work hard to provide for their family, but their demanding jobs make it difficult for them to be present for their daughters during the day.

Recognizing the challenges of balancing work and ensuring their daughters’ well-being, Rachel and Versha's parents approached CORD for help. Understanding their situation, we made the decision to enroll the sisters in Mulki boarding school, where they could receive proper care and a quality education.

Rachel, now in the 8th grade, and Versha, in the 6th grade, are thriving in their new environment at Mulki boarding school. Away from home but in a nurturing and supportive environment, both girls are making great strides in their studies, setting the foundation for a better future.

At CORD, we are committed to helping families like Rachel and Versha’s by ensuring that children can pursue their education in a safe and structured environment. By placing these sisters in Mulki boarding school, we aim to provide them with the opportunity to focus on their studies and personal growth, without the worry of daily hardships. Their story reflects the positive impact that community support and education can have on a child’s future, and we are honored to be a part of their journey.
